HDT Software is a senior engineering consultancy founded by Hervé Roux. Here is where the experience comes from.
The founder’s story
I started on the first line of HP’s Remote Management Center and left seven years later as a manager, leading 40 engineers who supported UNIX, database and SAP platforms for some of HP’s largest customers. That is where I learned that systems only matter if they stay up, and that reliability lives in the details.
Since then I have worked on programmes nobody can afford to get wrong: a global service desk for an intergovernmental organisation, a datacenter rescue against an airport’s public opening date, and six years leading the replacement of an EU agency’s service management platform, from the RFP and data protection impact assessment to go-live for 800+ support staff.
In 2015 I founded HDT Software to build ITSM4Outlook, an Outlook integration for IT service management. Building, shipping and supporting a product end to end taught me the whole cycle: code, infrastructure, security, customers and invoices. From 2019, HDT moved to cloud migrations and automation on Microsoft Azure.
Today HDT works the way forward-deployed engineers do: embedded with the client, building directly with AI agents such as Claude Code, from proof of concept to MVP in days or weeks. I lead every engagement personally and bring in trusted specialists when the scope calls for it. The twenty years before are what make that speed safe.

EU agency
Led the replacement of a legacy ITSM platform for 3,000+ users and 800+ support staff: RFP, vendor selection and DPIA, then proof of concept, pilot and agency-wide go-live. Designed an Azure Automation integration broker in PowerShell to replace legacy Java integrations.

Built and sold ITSM4Outlook, then delivered cloud migrations to ServiceNow and other SaaS platforms, Azure microservices, Terraform and Bicep infrastructure, Azure DevOps pipelines and Intune–CMDB integrations. Microsoft and SAP partner.

Technical lead for a new global service desk serving dozens of international agencies. Built a self-service VDI portal on VMware and SCCM and moved monitoring to event-driven incident creation.

Brought in to rescue a stalled datacenter migration. Audited the root causes, took over vendor coordination and delivered all systems on a high-availability virtualisation platform before the public opening date.

Five roles in seven years at HP’s global Remote Management Center. Managed the UNIX, database and SAP area with 40 engineers (levels 1–3) and ran quality and SLA governance for HP’s largest customers.
